The Enterprise locates the freighter Batris in the Neutral Zone. Three Klingons are onboard, one of whom dies in sickbay. The Klingon commander, Korris, confides in Worf that he is worried that the alliance with the Federation is destroying his people's warrior spirit. Korris wants Worf to join him. Picard learns this from K'Nera, captain of a Klingon ship that comes alongside the Enterprise. The renegades are arrested, but escape. One of the Klingons, Konmel, is killed, but Korris has a disrupter, and threatens to destroy the dilithium chamber. Worf tries to talk Korris down, but ends the situation by shooting him. There was no honour in Korris' actions.
